Love Shouldn’t Hurt Philly (LSH) is an organization servicing in and around Philadelphia affected by incidents of domestic violence. LSH is focused on supporting survivors and victims of domestic violence by providing them services that address crisis management, advocacy, and educational needs, as well as guide with resources and referrals. This organization grew out of a lived experience by our president, Christina Vega, and her vision to make sure that no other person felt alone. LSH has provided support services via relocation, crisis intervention, immediate needs response, court advocates, and financial assistance. We also host an annual gala to honor survivors and a 5K that raises funds for agencies who support our mission.
Advocacy and outreach are key components to how LSH educates the community by visiting organizations both private and public sector, schools, and centers of worship. LSH is working towards changing the narrative around isolation by being present and creating awareness and discussion around issues of domestic violence.
