Linda "Jeannie" Rios, born on September 21, 1980, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, was a devoted mother, sister, cousin, friend, and daughter. Working for the city of Philadelphia since her teenage years, she was affectionately known to all in the office, as the "woman who lit up a room", at home she earned the affectionate nickname "mother hen" from her siblings, due to her protective nature of all of them. Known for her intelligence and beauty, Jeannie had a vibrant sense of humor, often joking about her height. Tragically, she lost her life due to domestic violence, on August 17, 2018, leaving behind two cherished daughters. Despite life's challenges, Jeannie's legacy is remembered for her kindness, humor, love for literature, and unique fashion sense. - Lovingly, Cassandra Romero (sister)
On behalf of the Love Shouldn't Hurt Philly team, we have dedicated our mission to supporting victims, families, and survivors of Domestic Violence in honor of Linda Jeannie Rios. We will strive to not only remember her with love, but to remind all those who are a part of everything that we do, that her memory will live on through our work.
Rest in eternal paradise, Linda Jeannie Rios
